Developer Relations Engineer, Android/System UI

As a software engineer at Google, you will be responsible for developing the next-generation technologies that impact how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and each other. Your role will involve working on projects critical to Google's needs, with the opportunity to switch teams and projects as the business evolves. We are looking for individuals who can bring fresh ideas from various areas such as information retrieval, distributed computing, system design, networking, security, and more. To be successful in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 3 years of experience in Android app development and 1 year of experience in the Kotlin programming language. Preferred qualifications include 4 years of experience in building Android apps, expertise in debugging performance issues in Jetpack Compose, and a track record of rolling out new technologies to improve developer productivity. Experience contributing to open-source projects is also valued. Your responsibilities will include managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, as well as designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions. You will collaborate with developers, provide engineering direction, and work towards driving the adoption of System UI APIs. Additionally, you will become an expert in SysUI APIs and tools, identify opportunities for Google and developers to create better products, and ensure alignment with Jetpack Compose best practices.
