Role Description This is a full-time Hybrid based role located in the Kolkata metropolitan area for a Solar Ground Mounted, Rooftop Business Development Lead. The role involves identifying and developing new business opportunities in the solar sector, with a focus on ground-mounted and rooftop solar installations. Day-to-day tasks include engaging with potential clients, preparing proposals, conducting site visits, and coordinating with engineering and operations teams to ensure successful project execution. The Business Development Lead will also be responsible for keeping abreast of market trends and regulatory changes in the solar industry. Some work from home is acceptable. Qualifications Over 1 year of proven experience in the Solar Power and Renewable Energy industry , with strong exposure to solar systems design, electrical (LV/MV) systems, product distribution , and industrial automation . Hands-on experience in dealing with distribution utilities such as WBSEDCL, CESC , and other DISCOMs. Sound knowledge of tendering processes including tender identification, documentation, and submission. Demonstrated expertise in business development and sales for Commercial & Industrial (C&I) rooftop solar projects . Strong understanding of renewable energy policies , including Open Access, Net Metering, Net Billing, and Gross Metering regulations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills , with the ability to prepare technical and commercial proposals, Site survey effectively. Capable of working independently as well as leading or contributing as a key member of a team . Relevant hands-on experience in the renewable energy sector will be an added advantage. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field . Familiarity with social media marketing will be considered a plus.
