Description
The DB specialist has the ultimate responsibility for physical and applicative database administration activities supporting the end-to-end life cycle of the product from a database perspective. You will provide supreme level problem-solving services to all stakeholders during the project lifecycle, from development to post-production, by offering permanent and efficient solutions to complex and unusual problems. Additionally, you will provide professional guidance and coaching to project management and development teams, implementation groups, as well as customer architects - internal and external Amdocs customers, including stakeholders without a database understanding. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, configuring, and administering large and critical database systems to ensure high performance and improve highly complex code where conventional approaches fall short. You will lead and define tuning database parameters, such as physical layout and memory buffers, and promote standardization per product across customers worldwide. Furthermore, you will design strategies for database working processes, such as backup and recovery, during the project lifecycle and guide the implementation. You will also lead and build team knowledge capabilities, versatility, and personal skills variety. As an Authority in Amdocs, you will demonstrate an advanced degree of competence and be a technology guru with rich experience and high aptitudes in database areas. You will define the database vision and strategy in the organization and serve as the ultimate level of technical escalation for critical incidents in production customers" systems with a direct business impact. Being a consistent professional, you will act as a bridge builder, setting an example for others in terms of communication, managing expectations, and building/growing partnerships. All you need for this role is a Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent, 7-8 years of experience as a DBA with SQL knowledge in a software company, significant experience and solid knowledge of RDBMS, experience with UNIX or UNIX variants and scripting, and relevant database certifications. Experience in operating within a complex, multi-interface environment is also required.
