Data Modeler - Financial Services Domain

In the role of Data Modeler in the Financial Services domain at LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group), you will play a crucial part in the Data Management & Strategy team. Your main task will involve designing and implementing conceptual, logical, and physical data models to enhance insights, mitigate risks, and ensure regulatory compliance within financial services platforms. A key aspect of your role will be collaborating with data architects, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to guarantee the scalability and high quality of data models. Your responsibilities will include: - Analyzing business and technical data requirements to create data models - Working with architects and SMEs to resolve issues in the existing architecture - Developing and maintaining source-to-target mappings reflecting business processes and data lineage - Ensuring governance activities align with enterprise standards - Supporting metadata management and integrating modeling practices into broader data architecture - Conducting model reviews and implementing enhancements based on stakeholder feedback To qualify for this role, you should have: - 5-10 years of hands-on data modeling experience, with a preference for experience in financial services or large-scale data migration programs - Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and the end-to-end project lifecycle - Solid knowledge of financial and investment domains, particularly market/reference data - Proficiency in creating and interpreting UML class diagrams, ERDs, and working with tools like Erwin, ER/Studio, Sparx Enterprise Architect, etc. - Familiarity with SQL, relational database systems (RDBMS), JSON, and/or XML - Capability to create and review logical models based on user stories and requirements - Ability to validate models for normalization, consistency, and correctness - Demonstrated understanding of business context in source-to-target mappings The London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) is a global financial markets infrastructure business.
