As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) on the Data Engineering team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, observability, and capacity of some of Goldman Sachs's largest data platforms. Your responsibilities will include driving the adoption of cloud technology for data processing and warehousing, defining SRE strategies for key platforms, collaborating with data consumers and producers to meet reliability and cost requirements, and leading strategic initiatives with data. **Key Responsibilities:** - Drive adoption of cloud technology for data processing and warehousing - Define SRE strategy for key platforms such as Lakehouse and Data Lake - Collaborate with data consumers and producers to align on reliability and cost requirements - Lead strategic initiatives leveraging data **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelor's or Master's degree in a computational field (Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline) - 1-4+ years of relevant work experience in a team-focused environment - 1-2 years of hands-on developer experience - Proficiency in DevOps and SRE principles, automation, and managing technical risks - Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) - Strong understanding of data strategy and multi-dimensionality, data curation, and quality - Expertise in relational and columnar SQL databases and data warehousing concepts - Excellent communication skills and ability to drive quantifiable commercial impact - Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and a sense of ownership - Ability to build trusted partnerships across business and engineering teams **Relevant Technologies:** Snowflake, AWS, Grafana, PromQL, Python, Java, Open Telemetry, Gitlab The company is seeking individuals who can effectively express themselves in code, with a focus on reliability, observability, capacity management, DevOps, and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
