D365 Finance & Operations (F&O) Developer

Role & responsibilities

Design, develop and customise modules/extensions in D365 F&O using X++ and related technologies.

Participate in requirement gathering & assessment, collaborating with functional consultants and business stakeholders to translate business needs into technical designs.

Develop data entities, APIs/interfaces, integration solutions (e.g., via OData, REST, web services, Data Management Framework) to connect D365 with external systems.

Configure work-flows, security roles, batch jobs, data migration/import jobs in D365 F&O as needed.

Use Azure DevOps (Repos, Pipelines), Life Cycle Services (LCS), and ALM/DevOps best practices (version control, branching, CI/CD) to manage development lifecycle and deployments.

Debug, troubleshoot and support performance issues, ensuring optimal performance and user experience.

Develop unit tests, execute system integration tests, participate in user acceptance testing (UAT), ensure quality and documentation of deliverables.

Provide post-go-live support, maintenance and continuous improvement of D365 F&O solutions.

Keep up-to-date with new features/releases of D365 and power platform (e.g., Dual-Write, Power Apps, Power BI) and advise on leveraging them.

Preferred candidate profile

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.

Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on development experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (or AX2012) with core technical development in X++.

Strong proficiency in X++, C#, .NET, SQL server, Visual Studio.

Experience integrating D365 F&O with other systems using APIs/web services/Data Management Framework.

Good understanding of finance/operations business modules (GL, AP/AR, Project Accounting, Manufacturing/Supply Chain) is a plus.

Familiarity with Azure DevOps, LCS, version control, branching strategies and deployment pipelines.

Strong problem-solving, debugging skills and ability to work in an agile team environment.

Excellent communication skills – able to interface with functional/ business teams and translate requirements into technical solutions.

Microsoft certification for D365 F&O Developer (e.g., MB-500) is a plus.
