Key Responsibilities 1. Vessel Technical Support Assist in monitoring the technical condition of assigned vessels through reports, emails, and PMS data. Review daily, weekly, and monthly engine and technical reports from vessels. Highlight abnormalities or repeated issues to the Technical Superintendent. Maintain technical correspondence between ship staff, vendors, and office. 2. Planned Maintenance System (PMS) Support PMS data entry, job updates, and closure verification. Follow up with vessels on overdue or critical PMS jobs. Assist in uploading service reports, certificates, and maintenance records. Help in preparing PMS data for audits, inspections, or vetting. 3. Vendor & Service Coordination Liaise with service providers for routine maintenance and breakdown attendance. Coordinate attendance logistics such as port, vessel availability, and spares readiness. Collect and file service reports and follow up on recommendations. 7. Documentation & Record Keeping Maintain organized technical files for each vessel (digital and/or hard copy). Assist in preparation of technical summaries, defect lists, and follow-up trackers. Update internal databases, spreadsheets, and tracking tools. Qualifications & Experience Marine Engineering background (Junior Engineer / 4th Engineer). Sailing experience preferred but not mandatory. Basic understanding of ship machinery and marine systems. Skills & Competencies Basic technical knowledge of marine engineering systems. Good communication skills (written and verbal). Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision. Organized, detail-oriented, and willing to learn. Comfortable using MS Excel, Word, email, and PMS software. Key Performance Expectations Timely follow-up of vessel reports and requests. Accurate documentation and record keeping. Proactive support to senior technical staff. Willingness to learn and develop technical competence.
