Job Description

As a Software Engineer at Qualcomm India Private Limited, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, modifying, and validating cutting-edge embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and utility programs. Your work will contribute to the creation of world-class products that exceed customer expectations. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including systems, hardware, and test engineers, you will design system-level software solutions and gather insights on performance requirements and interfaces. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of Software Engineering experience. Alternatively, a Master's degree with 1+ year of relevant experience or a PhD in a relevant field is also acceptable. Additionally, you should possess at least 2 years of academic or work experience with programming languages like C, C++, Java, or Python. As a member of the Customer Engineering group at QCT, your primary responsibilities will involve working closely with customers to analyze, debug, and resolve issues related to QCT products. You will conduct detailed failure analysis and experiments to enhance product quality. Collaboration with a diverse team comprising Software Development, Hardware Design, and System Design professionals will be essential for the successful commercialization of QCT products. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage with leading wireless operators, infrastructure vendors, and R&D teams on cutting-edge wireless technologies such as 5G Sub6, 5G mmW, Licensed band Radio (LBR)-mmW, and Un-licensed Band Radio (UBR). Your tasks will include system performance characterization, optimization, debugging support, demos, and field trials of new features in 5G/LBR-mmW technology. Onsite support to mobile operators for the deployment and enhancement of their 5G/LBR-mmW networks will also be part of your responsibilities. The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field along with at least 5 years of experience in customer support and debugging techniques. Strong protocol knowledge in 5G-Sub6, 5G-mMW, LBR-mmW, UBR, Wifi6, and Wifi7 is essential, coupled with excellent log analysis skills and software code design/debugging abilities for complex issue resolution. Proficiency in data protocols, TCP/IP Networking protocols, Ipv4, IPV6, as well as programming skills in C/C++, Perl, Python, MATLAB, and hands-on programming project experience will be advantageous.
