Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to drive technical excellence and provide strategic leadership for our engineering team. You will be responsible for architecting scalable systems, mentoring engineers, and establishing technical standards while remaining hands-on with code. This role requires someone who can balance technical depth with leadership skills, guiding both technology decisions and team growth. Responsibilities: Own the technical architecture and make strategic decisions on system design, technology choices, and infrastructure Drive technical roadmap planning and align engineering efforts with business objectives Lead by example through hands-on contribution to critical features and architectural components Participate in hiring processes and help build a strong engineering culture Requirements: 7+ years of software engineering experience with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role Expert-level knowledge of Node.js, TypeScript, and modern backend frameworks (Fastify, Express) Strong background in system design, architectural patterns, and making technology trade-offs Deep understanding of monorepo architectures and tooling (Turborepo, Nx) Experience with event-driven architectures and message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, BullMQ) Production experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) Strong cloud platform expertise (AWS and/or GCP) including infrastructure design and optimization Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, MCP, etc.) Expertise in database design and optimization (SQL/NoSQL) with ORMs like Drizzle or Prisma Proficiency with API design, testing frameworks, and load testing tools (Postman, k6, JMeter) Nice to have: Experience building and scaling AI-powered platforms or products Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry, DataDog) Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation) Background in Python and FastAPI for polyglot development Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks and state management (React, Redux, Next.js, Vue) Experience working in fast-paced startup environments Benefits: Competitive salary and equity options Flexible work environment (remote/hybrid) Work with cutting-edge AI technologies and modern engineering practices High growth potential as the company and team scale
