DESIGNATION: CSSD Technician / Assistant - Hospital

QUALIFICATION: Dip. In CSSD Tech / Dip.in OT Tech / Ward Technician Course / related healthcare field.

GENDER: Male

YRS OF EXPERIENCE: 0 – 3 yrs of experience.

INDUSTRY: Preferably Hospital / Healthcare.

KEY SKILLS:

Ø Basic knowledge of sterilization processes and infection control.

Ø Attention to detail and ability to follow standard protocols.

Ø Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and handle equipment.

Ø Good communication and teamwork skills.

SALARY: Salary is not a constraint for the right candidate

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Decontamination:

Ø Receive, sort, and clean used surgical instruments and equipment.

Ø Follow proper procedures for handling contaminated items using PPE.

Ø Operate ultrasonic cleaners and washer-disinfectors.

Ø Inspection and Assembly:

Ø Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage.

Ø Assemble instrument sets according to surgical schedules and standards.

Ø Replace or report broken/missing instruments.

Sterilization:

Ø Operate and monitor autoclaves and other sterilizing equipment (e.g., ETO, plasma).

Ø Load and unload sterilizers according to protocols.

Ø Ensure correct labeling and documentation of sterilized items.

Ø Storage and Distribution:

Ø Store sterilized items in sterile storage areas under standard conditions.

Ø Maintain par levels and issue sterile supplies to operation theatres, wards, and other units.

Ø Track usage and maintain accurate inventory records.

Compliance:

Ø Follow infection control and hospital safety guidelines.

Ø Ensure accurate record-keeping and documentation of sterilization logs.

Ø Participate in quality assurance and department audits.
