The Director of International Communications at Assurant is responsible for leading communications efforts in global markets outside of the United States. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Global Communications, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the company's international presence, engaging the global employee base, and ensuring consistent messaging that aligns with enterprise priorities. Your key responsibilities will include leading a team of communications professionals to develop and execute an impactful international communications strategy, serving as a strategic advisor to senior leaders on messaging and reputation management, and driving internal communications initiatives to promote employee engagement and awareness of enterprise goals. You will also be tasked with standardizing internal communications processes, overseeing media relations efforts, and collaborating closely with international business leaders to ensure effective communication coverage across regions. The ideal candidate for this role will have at least 10 years of communications experience with a focus on international or global markets. A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field is preferred. You should possess strong leadership skills, business acumen, and the ability to collaborate with senior executives on high-profile initiatives. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, project management abilities, and a knack for synthesizing complex information into clear narratives are essential for success in this position. Additionally, experience in managing internal and external communications, including media relations and employee engagement, is required. Preferred qualifications include at least 5 years of experience in leading and developing diverse teams, as well as the ability to leverage product/service innovation and thought leadership to enhance brand reputation and support business growth. You should be a collaborative and culturally aware leader with a global mindset, capable of working effectively across a matrixed organization to deliver strategic communication solutions. This position will be based in Bangalore, Chennai, or Hyderabad at the India location.
