Role Description:

This is a full-time remote role for a Credit Manager specializing in Home Loans. As a Credit Manager you will be responsible for working closely with the Head Broker and assist the broker to evaluating home loan applications, assessing creditworthiness, income documents, conducting detailed financial analyses, preparing files from submission to Approval, and providing recommendations to support lending decisions. The role also involves collaborating with team members and stakeholders to ensure adherence to credit policies and delivering exceptional service to clients.

Role responsibilities:

  • Conduct servicing assessments using appropriate lender calculators
  • Expert in evaluating complex home loan applications (Company, Trust, Partnership, PAYG income, Guarantor Applications & SMSF Deals)
  • Research Bank / lender policy and identify any potential obstacles or seek policy exceptions required prior to lodging approvals to the bank.
  • Review client scenario notes and supporting documents provided by the broker to understand client goals, financials, and loan requirements
  • Shortlist 35 lenders that are policy-appropriate, competitively priced, and aligned with client need
  • Prepare clear product comparisons and written recommendation summaries for the broker to use in the client meeting
  • Order property valuations where required and update pricing based on market movement
  • Provide timely updates to clients regarding the progress of their applications
  • Liaise closely with Mortgage Brokers and Loan Processors to ensure smooth handover of files and avoid double-handling with the aim to get one touch approvals from the Bank / Lenders once loan is submitted for their assessment.

  • Strong understanding of credit policies and loan application processes
  • Excellent research and critical thinking capabilities
  • Strong written communication skills ability to summarise complex products clearly
  • Professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive client information

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of home loan credit assessment experience having worked for an Australian Bank or Australian Mortgage Broker.
