Job Description

Job Overview

The Communication Executive will be responsible for developing and executing communication strategies to promote the LCF’s mission, programs, and impact. This role involves content creation, media engagement, social media management, donor communication, and event support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Creation
  • Draft and edit content for newsletters, press releases, blogs, social media, reports, and website.
  • Collect and compile stories from the field (case studies, testimonials, success stories).
  • Media and Public Relations
  • Build and maintain media contacts and relationships.
  • Coordinate with media for coverage of events and initiatives.
  • Draft and disseminate press releases.
  • Social Media Management
  • Develop and implement social media strategy across platforms (Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Create and schedule engaging posts to increase reach and engagement.
  • Branding and Design
  • Coordinate with designers and vendors to produce promotional materials.
  • Ensure consistent branding across all communication channels.
  • Internal and Donor Communication
  • Prepare donor reports, presentations, and proposal content as needed.
  • Collaborate with program teams to document impact and progress.
  • Event Communication
  • Support the communication aspects of campaigns, workshops, or community events.
  • Handle pre-event and post-event publicity and documentation.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in communications, preferably in the development or nonprofit sector.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (and local language if applicable).
  • Strong knowledge of digital media tools and social media platforms.
  • Basic design and layout skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite preferred).
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects.

Preferred Attributes

  • Passion for social causes and the NGO's mission.
  • Knowledge of storytelling techniques in development communication.
  • Experience with photography/videography is a plus.
  • Fluency in additional regional languages (if applicable).
