Who are we looking for:

The Madras Seva Sadan is seeking an experienced and result-oriented Construction Project Manager to join the organisation on a full-time basis. The candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing large-scale building construction projects. The role requires strong technical expertise in civil construction, electrical, and plumbing works. The candidate must have proven experience in managing projects exceeding 1.5 lakh sq. ft. and leading a team of three personnel: an MEP Engineer, a Construction Site Engineer, and a Quality Control and Quantity Surveyor, ensuring timely completion, quality and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise daily construction activities at the project site.
• Plan daily and weekly work schedules according to project requirements.
• Allocate work to supervisors, contractors, subcontractors and workers.
• Ensure construction activities follow approved drawings and specifications.
• Monitor work progress and report delays.
• Coordinate materials, machinery and manpower requirements.
• Maintain site safety, housekeeping and quality standards.
• Coordinate with engineers, consultants and subcontractors.
• Identify site issues and ensure timely resolution.
• Check reinforcement, shuttering, concreting, masonry, plastering, flooring and other site activities.
• Coordinate inspections with the Quality Control Engineer and consultants.
• Ensure workers follow safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Maintain records of material usage and site stock.
• Review drawings, resolve discrepancies with engineers and obtain required approvals before critical work proceeds.
• The Project Manager will lead a team of three: an MEP Engineer, a Construction Site Engineer and a Quality Control and Quantity Surveyor, ensuring effective coordination, quality control and timely project execution.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in construction project management.
• Relevant construction site experience suited to the project size and complexity.
• Knowledge of construction drawings, materials, building methods, safety and quality requirements.
• Ability to supervise labourers and subcontractors.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Office and Project.
• Ability to prepare DPRs, monthly reports, checklists and maintain site records.
• Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Must be fluent in Tamil, with basic knowledge of English and Hindi.
• Experience with projects of approximately 1.5 lakh sq. ft.
