Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically-minded CO2 Laser Machine Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end process of laser cutting and engraving—from preparing digital files and setting machine parameters to quality inspection and routine maintenance. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with various materials like acrylic, wood, and plastics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation: Set up and operate CO2 laser machines to cut, engrave, or mark materials according to project specifications.
  • File Preparation: Interpret technical drawings and use software (e.g., LightBurn, RDWorks, CorelDRAW, or AutoCAD) to prepare and nest vector files for optimal material yield.
  • Parameter Tuning: Adjust laser power, speed, and frequency settings based on material type and thickness.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished parts using calipers and micrometers to ensure they meet dimensional tolerances and aesthetic standards.
  • Routine Maintenance: Perform daily cleaning of lenses and mirrors, monitor chiller levels, and clear debris from the cutting bed to ensure peak performance.
  • Safety Compliance: Strictly follow all safety protocols, including the use of PPE and monitoring for fire hazards during the cutting process.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience operating CNC or Laser cutting machinery.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with vector-based design software (CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator) and laser control software.
  • Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, 2D drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Measurement Skills: Proficiency in using precision measurement tools (calipers, gauges, tape measures).
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift materials .
  • Education: High School Diploma or technical certification in CNC machining is a plus.

Preferred Attributes

  • Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot "poor cut" quality or machine errors.
  • A "manufacturing mindset" focused on meeting deadlines without sacrificing quality.
  • Experience with material-specific nuances (e.g., preventing charring on wood or melting on acrylic).

Job Type: Full-time
