Clinical Lab Scientist - STAT Lab (Per Diem)

As a Per Diem Lab Technician at our physician-led, patient-centric network, you will play a crucial role in ensuring quality testing and laboratory operations. Your flexibility to work Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4pm with rotating weekend shifts will contribute to the smooth functioning of our STAT Lab locations across New Jersey. Here are the key responsibilities associated with this role: - Demonstrate and document competencies annually based on laboratory testing, adhering to CAP, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety requirements. - Process and evaluate patient specimens following SOP, including reference lab specimens, resolving time/temperature sensitive issues. - Perform routine instrument maintenance, correct basic malfunctions, and perform instrument QC and calibrations. - Conduct proficiency testing, approve specimen testing, release results, and communicate critical values according to SOP. - Monitor inventory levels, ensure clean workstations, and restock necessary supplies. - Perform staff training, assist with validations for new laboratory testing, and carry out other job duties as required. In terms of qualifications, we are looking for candidates who possess: - Associates degree required, with preference for an Associates or Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science. - ASCP or equivalent certification preferred. - 0-1 years of experience, with 2-4 years preferred. - Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. - Strong customer service skills, ability to work as a team player, and basic medical laboratory skills. - Knowledge of QA principles, experience with standard office equipment and technology, and medical laboratory instruments. Additionally, travel to satellite locations may be required as part of the job. Your compensation will be determined based on industry standards, years of experience, and position location.
