Character Artist Intern

As a 2D Character Artist Intern, your role is to bring expressive, personality-driven characters to life through designing characters with defined identities, visual storytelling, costumes, emotion sets, and stylistic consistency. Your selected artworks will be utilized across interactive products, thematic sets, game components, and collectible assets. **Key Responsibilities:** - Create 2D character concepts, silhouettes, turnarounds, and pose/expression sheets. - Develop clean digital illustrations ready for production use. - Collaborate with designers and writers to refine visual direction. - Interpret personality, lore, and thematic cues into visual identity. - Work within a defined art style while exploring creative variation. - Iterate based on feedback and maintain high visual quality. **Desired Skills:** - Strong fundamentals in anatomy, posture, gesture, and proportions. - Ability to translate character traits into visual design (clothing, accessories, iconography). - Preference for visual storytelling through color, silhouette, and costume design. - Awareness of cultural motifs, traditional aesthetics, or character archetypes. - Ability to adapt to stylistic guidelines (semi-realistic / stylized / minimalist). **Qualifications:** - Students, fresh graduates, or entry-level artists with a strong portfolio. - Prior internship or freelance experience is a plus but not required. - A portfolio of character art is mandatory. As an Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in character design for product applications, exposure to real-world creative pipelines and asset preparation workflows, mentorship from senior designers, and the chance to build long-term roles.
