Description
Your role as a Scrum Master involves facilitating scrum events such as daily scrum, refinement, planning, review, and retrospective. You will assist teams in resolving impediments and build productive relationships to gain trust and respect. It is essential to lead and coach the benefits of agile practices to all employees within your span of influence. You will also coach the Product Owner to ensure alignment with the Product vision, Product Backlog, and Sprint goals. As a Scrum Master, you will assume an ownership role in the team and share accountability for delivery and continuous improvements. Your responsibilities include enabling clear communication to help the Development team meet its goals and celebrating smart failure to drive improvements. Additionally, you will apply self-organization skills to facilitate collaboration, communication, decision-making, and conflict resolution within the team. Skills required for this role include acting as an Agility Lead for up to 3 teams, knowledge of Scrum/Agile principles, and the ability to flex your approach based on team needs. You should have empathy, facilitation skills, and the ability to lead Design Thinking/Strategy Sessions. Familiarity with Agile frameworks such as Kanban & XP and collaboration tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Share Point is essential. Business knowledge is crucial for this role, including possessing the business acumen to ensure shared goals, scope, and product domain knowledge. Technical knowledge of preferred programming practices, common development design patterns, and transformation strategic direction is also required. You should be familiar with customer-centered techniques and end-to-end product concepts to lead the team towards the right solutions and improvements. Estimation and planning skills are necessary to maintain a healthy backlog for the team's success.
