Job Summary: The Assistant Manager – Pricing (Export) is responsible for obtaining competitive Export freight rates, negotiating with carriers and NVOCCs, managing rate filings, and providing accurate and timely pricing support to the sales and operations teams. The role requires strong negotiation, coordination, and analytical skills along with deep industry knowledge in freight forwarding and Export pricing. Key Responsibilities: · Coordinate with Shipping Lines and NVOCCs to secure competitive FAK rates for both Dry and Reefer containers. · Negotiate Named Account (NAC) rates and ensure timely rate filing with master carriers, particularly for US shipments . · Liaise with vendors to obtain free time at origin and destination ports and maintain updated records. · Develop and maintain cordial relationships with all vendors, carriers, and stakeholders. · Ensure regular consolidation, housekeeping, and maintenance of rate sheets, tariffs, and free-time data. · Manage spot rate requests and ensure prompt turnaround to meet customer and sales requirements. · Distribute updated filed rates and service tariffs to all relevant internal stakeholders (sales, operations, etc.). · Act as the focal point for rate requests received from the sales and business development teams. · Obtain and prepare comprehensive costings for additional services such as transportation, insurance, CHA, inland rail movement (ICDs), and other related services. · Coordinate with carriers for booking management, space allocation, inventory allotment , and escalation resolution. · Ensure compliance with FMC rate filing, ACD/ENS and other international trade requirements. · Assist in cross-trade pricing and coordinate with overseas agents for rate procurement and quotations. · Handle rate disputes and escalations , ensuring timely resolution and maintaining positive relationships. · Create and maintain a database of major local charges and tariffs , including: o Terminal Handling Charges (THC) o Origin/Destination Local Charges o Other surcharges applicable to Export · Ensure overall accuracy, competitiveness, and profitability in all pricing activities. Key Skills & Competencies: · Strong knowledge of Export freight forwarding , rate structures, and trade compliance. · Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills. · Good understanding of FMC rate filing, ACD/ENS compliance , and NAC contract filing. · Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP/CRM systems , and documentation processes. · Strong coordination and communication abilities across teams and regions. · Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy in costing. · Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Qualifications: · Graduate / Postgraduate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or International Business . · Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Export Pricing within a Freight Forwarding company. · Candidates from the same industry and similar role will be given preference.
