Job Description

As a CAD Survey Designer/Developer, you will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and managing detailed technical drawings and designs based on land survey data. You will utilize your expertise in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software along with your knowledge of surveying principles to produce accurate digital representations of land features, topography, and infrastructure. Key Responsibilities - Transform raw survey data into detailed CAD drawings, including topographic maps, boundary surveys, and as-built drawings - Create and maintain 2D and 3D digital terrain models using survey data points - Process and analyze survey data from various sources including GPS, total stations, and laser scanners - Develop and maintain CAD standards, templates, and libraries specific to survey work - Perform quality control checks on CAD drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards - Convert legacy drawings and paper documents into digital CAD formats - Generate quantity calculations and area measurements from survey data - Collaborate with field surveyors to resolve data discrepancies and ensure drawing accuracy - Prepare final deliverables including plot plans, easement exhibits, and construction documents Required Qualifications - Diploma in Civil or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Surveying, GIS, or related field - Minimum 2 years experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar survey-specific CAD software - Proficiency in processing survey data and creating surface models - Strong understanding of surveying principles, coordinate systems, and datum - Experience with survey data collectors and field equipment - Knowledge of local surveying regulations and standards Technical Skills - Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar CAD software - Experience with survey data processing software - Familiarity with GIS software (ESRI ArcGIS, QGIS) - Understanding of LiDAR and point cloud data processing - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - Knowledge of survey calculations and adjustments Preferred Qualifications - Professional certification in CAD or related field - Experience with 3D laser scanning and point cloud processing - Knowledge of programming/scripting for CAD automation - Familiarity with drone/UAV mapping and photogrammetry - Experience with BIM software and workflows Personal Qualities - Strong attention to detail and accuracy - Excellent problem-solving abilities - Good communication skills for collaborating with field teams - Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines - Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with technology Physical Requirements - Ability to work at a computer workstation for extended periods - Occasional field visits to project sites may be required - Visual acuity and ability to work with detailed information on computer screens Work Environment - Primary work location is in an office setting - May require occasional travel to project sites - Full-time position with standard business hours - May require occasional overtime to meet project deadlines As a CAD Survey Designer/Developer, you will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and managing detailed technical drawings and designs based on land survey data.
