The Barista at CAARA Restaurants is responsible for crafting high-quality coffee and specialty beverages while delivering outstanding customer service. This position requires a passion for coffee, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Barista will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized workspace, managing inventory, and ensuring that all guests have a memorable and satisfying experience. Key Result Areas (KRA) for Barista Coffee and Beverage Preparation: o Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, and other specialty drinks, following CAARA’s high standards. o Accurately measure and grind coffee beans, steam milk, and maintain proper brewing techniques. o Ensure consistency in flavor, presentation, and quality for every drink served. Customer Service: o Greet guests warmly and provide excellent customer service, answering questions about the menu and making recommendations based on guests' preferences. o Handle guest orders efficiently, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail. o Address and resolve guest complaints or concerns with professionalism and courtesy. Menu Knowledge & Upselling: o Maintain thorough knowledge of the coffee menu, including different beans, brewing methods, and beverage options. o Suggest additional items or upsell pastries, snacks, and other accompaniments to enhance the guest experience and increase sales. Equipment Maintenance: o Regularly clean and maintain coffee machines, grinders, and other equipment to ensure they are in optimal working condition. o Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report any major repairs needed to the management. Inventory Management: o Monitor and manage inventory levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies, ensuring that stock is always sufficient for service needs. o Assist with placing orders for coffee and other supplies as needed. Hygiene & Cleanliness: o Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, ensuring a clean and sanitary work environment at all times. o Regularly clean the coffee bar area, including counters, machines, utensils, and storage areas. Team Collaboration: o Work closely with other staff members to ensure smooth operations and a cohesive guest experience. o Assist with training new team members on coffee preparation and service standards.
