Job Summary The Area Sales Manager (ASM) will be responsible for driving sales growth, achieving business targets, and expanding market presence within the assigned territory. The role involves direct engagement with doctors, distributors, hospitals, and healthcare professionals to promote the company’s products and build long-term business relationships. Key Responsibilities Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned area. Plan and execute effective field strategies to maximize product reach and market share. Identify and develop new business opportunities in untapped markets. Build and maintain strong relationships with doctors, hospitals, chemists, and distributors. Conduct regular field visits to ensure strong market presence and customer engagement. Monitor competitor activities, market trends, and provide insights to management. Ensure timely payment collection and maintain healthy distributor relationships. Implement promotional campaigns and new product launches effectively. Prepare area-wise sales reports, analyze performance data, and share business forecasts with senior management. Ensure adherence to company policies, ethical marketing practices, and compliance standards. Required Skills & Competencies In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical sales and marketing operations. Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to plan strategically and execute efficiently. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Self-motivated, target-driven, and capable of working independently. Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM tools. Qualification Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Science, or a related field. MBA in Marketing will be preferred. 8–12 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales, with strong field exposure and proven record of achieving sales targets.
