As a Respiratory Technician, your primary role is to support in diagnosing, treating, and caring for patients with respiratory conditions. You will be responsible for conducting various diagnostic tests like pulmonary function tests (PFTs), assisting in bronchoscopy procedures, performing sleep studies, and administering respiratory treatments under the supervision of licensed professionals. Your key responsibilities will include monitoring patients during treatments, documenting vital signs, and reporting responses accurately. In the field of Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT), you will conduct tests such as spirometry, lung volume measurements, and diffusion capacity tests. It will be crucial for you to calibrate and maintain PFT equipment to ensure precise and reliable test results. Additionally, educating and guiding patients on the correct way to perform PFTs will be a part of your duties. In assisting with bronchoscopy procedures, you will need to prepare and sterilize equipment before the procedure, assist the physician during the bronchoscopy, monitor vital signs, manage instruments, and maintain a sterile field. Post-procedure, you will clean and disinfect instruments and provide necessary care and guidance to the patients. For Sleep Study (Polysomnography) Testing, you will be responsible for preparing and setting up equipment for overnight sleep studies, monitoring patients during the study to assess sleep disorders, recording and interpreting data like brain activity, eye movement, muscle activity, heart rate, and oxygen levels. Ensuring patient comfort and addressing any concerns during the sleep study will also be part of your role. To qualify for this position, you should hold a diploma or degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related healthcare field. Certification or licensure as required by local regulations such as CPFT, Polysomnography Technician certification, or other relevant credentials is necessary. Previous experience in respiratory care, PFTs, bronchoscopy, and sleep studies will be beneficial. Your skills and abilities should include proficiency in operating and maintaining respiratory, PFT, bronchoscopy, and sleep study equipment, knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures, sleep disorders, and medical terminology, excellent patient care and communication skills, and a strong attention to detail along with the ability to follow safety and infection control protocols. This is a full-time position with a fixed shift schedule. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 1 year of total work experience in the field. The work location will be in person.,
