Branch Credit Manager

Key Responsibilities (KRAs)

1. Credit Appraisal & Underwriting

Conduct detailed credit appraisal of loan proposals (Retail / LAP / SME / Business Loans / Affordable Housing).Analyze financial statements, bank statements, income documents, and credit bureau reports (CIBIL).Assess repayment capacity, FOIR, LTV, and risk parameters.Evaluate collateral security and property valuation reports.Recommend approval/rejection within delegated authority limits.

2. Risk Assessment & Portfolio Quality

Identify early warning signals and potential credit risks.Ensure adherence to internal credit policy and RBI guidelines.Monitor delinquency trends and coordinate with collections team.Maintain portfolio quality within defined PAR / NPA thresholds.

3. Field Investigation & Due Diligence

Conduct personal discussion (PD) with applicants.Perform business and residence verification (as required).Validate end-use of funds and customer intent.Coordinate with legal, technical, and valuation agencies.

4. Compliance & Documentation

Ensure complete and accurate documentation before approval.Maintain TAT (Turnaround Time) as per SLA.Support internal/external audits and compliance reviews.Ensure adherence to KYC norms and regulatory requirements.

5. Stakeholder Coordination

Work closely with Sales/Business team to understand customer profiles.Guide Relationship Officers on credit norms and eligibility criteria.Coordinate with Operations team for smooth loan disbursement.Escalate policy deviations to higher authority with justification.

6. Delegation & Decision Authority

Exercise approval authority as per DOA (Delegation of Authority).Recommend deviations with proper risk mitigation notes.Ensure proper justification for policy exceptions.
