A Used Cooking Oil (UCO) Refining Plant Operator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the refining process, ensuring the efficient and safe conversion of used cooking oil into a high-quality, usable product. This role involves operating specialized equipment, monitoring production processes, and maintaining safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Equipment Operation Operate and monitor specialized refining equipment such as pumps, filtration systems, and control panels to regulate variables like temperature, pressure, and flow rates. This includes starting and stopping pumps, opening and closing valves, and managing manifold systems. Process Monitoring Continuously monitor all aspects of the refining process to ensure production standards are met. This involves taking routine readings, observing gauges, and inspecting equipment to identify and resolve any malfunctions or abnormalities. Quality The operator ensures the final product meets all required quality standards. Material Handling Safely handle raw materials, including used cooking oil, chemicals, and additives. Record Keeping Maintain detailed logs and records of operational data, including instrument readings, inventory levels of oil and chemicals. Safety and Housekeeping Adhere strictly to safety procedures and regulations, including Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). This includes keeping the plant clean, wiping up spills, and performing general housekeeping duties to ensure a safe working environment. Maintenance Perform routine maintenance, clean equipment, and report any malfunctioning machinery to supervisors for repair. Skills needed: Experience Proven experience as a refinery operator, particularly in the edible oil, or biofuel industry, is highly valued. Technical Skills Strong knowledge of refinery processes, equipment, and safety regulations is essential. Problem-Solving Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities are crucial for identifying and correcting issues in the plant.
