Role Overview We are seeking a strategic, analytical, and experienced Digital Sales Manager to lead and scale our e-commerce and digital sales operations across platforms like Amazon, Flipkart, and other key online retailers. This role is central to Bloomsbury India’s digital growth strategy and requires a combination of ecommerce expertise, commercial acumen, and operational excellence. The candidate will oversee product listings, sales forecasting, inventory planning, digital promotions, and campaign management while working cross-functionally with Editorial, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams. Key Responsibilities Digital Sales & Platform Management • Drive digital revenue growth through Amazon (Vendor Central/Seller Central) and other ecommerce platforms. • Select and propose frontlist and backlist titles suitable for ecommerce-specific strategies. • Finalize pricing, print/import quantities, and discounting in collaboration with the Head of Sales. • Monitor and optimize availability, inventory levels, and listing accuracy to ensure discoverability and avoid stockouts. • Ensure timely listing of new titles and coordinate with inventory and warehouse teams to ensure pre-launch availability. • Oversee metadata accuracy and bibliographic updates across systems and retail platforms. • Manage return rates and implement strategies to protect profit margins. • Build and sustain strong relationships with key ecommerce partners including Amazon, Flipkart, and Cloudtail. • Liaise regularly with category managers to ensure visibility for priority titles, upcoming releases, and seasonal promotions. • Monitor marketplace trends and retailer-specific campaigns to inform internal planning. • Design and execute high-ROI AMS (Amazon Marketing Services) campaigns, keyword strategies, and sponsored ads. • Create promotional bundles, price-led campaigns, and digital visibility plans for key titles and series. • Work with Marketing and Editorial to develop launch and promotional calendars for digital-first success. • Track sales performance, conversion rates, and campaign effectiveness across digital platforms. • Prepare monthly dashboards, forecasts, and insights for internal stakeholders and senior leadership. • Use analytics to guide promotional planning, pricing decisions, and inventory optimization. Required Skills & Experience • Minimum 10 years of experience in ecommerce, digital sales, or online retail, with a proven track record of success. • Prior experience managing Amazon accounts via Vendor Central and/or Seller Central is essential. • Experience in publishing, FMCG, media, or consumer goods is preferred. • Strong command over commercial and pricing strategy, discount modeling, and digital product lifecycle management. • Highly proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting tools; knowledge of analytics platforms is an advantage. • Excellent communication, organizational, and cross-functional coordination skills. • Self-driven, performance-oriented, and comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment. • Proven ability to handle inventory, promotions, and data-driven campaign planning. • Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills

About Role This role is crucial for managing the end-to-end publicity of assigned books, including creating and executing comprehensive campaigns across various media, events, podcasts, and influencer partnerships. The candidate is required to be creative and proactive professional with a deep understanding of the Indian media landscape and a passion for books and storytelling. Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning & Execution · Develop and implement comprehensive publicity plans for assigned UK and India titles at least three months in advance. These plans will cover our diverse list, including priority authors, agency titles, and children's books. · Work on author-specific and spokesperson-specific plans to build their public profile and media presence. · Oversee all aspects of media announcements, ensuring appropriate timing and frequency to maximize impact. · Collaborate with the sales and product teams to align publicity efforts with broader business goals. · Monitor and analyze media trends to identify new opportunities and provide strategic input to the overall publicity strategy. Media & Public Relations · Secure visibility for our publishing house and its titles across a wide range of mainstream and online media outlets, including print, digital, podcasts, and broadcast. · Maintain and update comprehensive media lists across various beats, regions, and genres. · Actively build and nurture strong relationships with key journalists, editors, and producers to secure reviews, features, and author interviews. · Manage the end-to-end process of sending out review copies, following up on pitches, and sharing placement updates with authors and internal stakeholders. Content Creation · Conduct research to generate fresh content ideas that effectively pitch frontlist and priority titles. · Craft compelling, title-specific pitch notes for all assigned books. · Oversee the development of promotional materials such as infographics, video content, and photo releases, working closely with our design team. · Contribute to speech writing and talking points for company spokespersons. Events & Partnerships · Lead the planning and execution of all book-related events from start to finish. · Identify and secure brand tie-ups and partnerships for book promotions and events to enhance reach and impact. Influencer Management · Develop and maintain a robust repository of influencers across various topics and industries. · Cultivate strong relationships with key influencers and creators. · Design and execute targeted influencer campaigns for key titles to achieve maximum amplification and audience engagement. Thought Leadership · Research and identify speaking opportunities and platforms for our authors and company spokespersons. · Maintain a calendar of thought leadership forums and pitch relevant individuals to enhance their professional profile. · Actively participate in industry forums and events to stay abreast of publishing trends and network with peers.
