As the Assistant General Manager/Deputy General Manager for Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) at Baldota Steel and Power Limited (BSPL), you will have a crucial role in overseeing the health, safety, and environmental aspects during the execution and commissioning phases of the Greenfield Integrated Steel Plant project. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure a safe working environment and promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project lifecycle. You will be tasked with leading and managing the HSE function for the Greenfield Integrated Steel Plant (>1.0 MTPA) from the initial concept to the final commissioning stage. This will involve developing, implementing, and monitoring HSE strategies, plans, and programs that are in line with the project's objectives and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will establish Safety Committees, provide guidance on safety initiatives, and conduct training programs and awareness sessions for employees and contractors to prevent personal injuries. Your role will also include conducting job safety analyses, identifying hazards, and assessing risks for all major project activities. Regular safety inspections will be part of your responsibilities to ensure compliance with safety standards and to recommend corrective actions as needed. In the unfortunate event of incidents, accidents, or dangerous occurrences, you will investigate root causes and implement preventive measures while maintaining accurate records of safety performance metrics. Collaboration with procurement and stores teams to ensure the availability of high-quality Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety gear will be essential. Leading safety campaigns, contests, and engagement activities to promote a strong safety culture among all stakeholders on-site will also be part of your duties. Providing guidance to project and construction teams on adopting and maintaining best practices in occupational health and safety is crucial for the success of the project. About the Role Technical Project Manager to oversee planning and monitoring for the Steel Melting Shop (SMS) in our Integrated Steel Plant project. The role involves coordinating with technical teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure smooth execution, timely progress, and adherence to project specifications. The candidate should have strong knowledge of SMS processes BOF and CCM, along with experience in project planning, technical reviews, and execution monitoring in a large-scale industrial setup. Responsibilities Execution of SMS Project. Coordinate the technical discussions during the finalization of SMS Technology with principle technology suppliers and prepare the Technical comparatives. Coordinate the technical discussions during the finalization of critical packages of SMS with various package suppliers and prepare the Technical comparatives. Coordinate the Kick-Off meeting, Basic Data, Basic Engineering & Detailed Engineering b/w all relevant stake holders for timely completion of SMS project. Coordinate with commercial project manager for any variations in the technical scope of supply with supporting documentation for claims/ counter claims settlement. Ensure technical coordination for the timely delivery of SMS project. Coordinate for preparation, updating & timely presenting the detailed Project Time Schedule for regular review/ monitoring by SMS head. Experience of SMS project of > 2.0 MTPA right from Concept to Commissioning. Must have been involved in technological discussions of SMS with principle technology suppliers and package equipment suppliers for SMS Project. Should have handled technical aspects of critical SMS packages during order finalization, Basic & Detailed Engineering, manufacturing, installation & commissioning. Should have exposure to budget estimation skills, budget monitoring & control. Should possess project monitoring skills to prepare MIS daily / weekly / fortnightly / monthly progress reports and should possess ability to analyse the project delays and discuss mitigation measures with SMS head. Should possess hands on experience in erection & commissioning of SMS equipment. Should have exposure executing the Cold trials & commissioning of all equipment & accessories related to SMS.
