Backend Developer (.NET & Python)

As a Software Developer in this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining applications and APIs using both .NET (VB/C#) and Python. Your expertise in building and integrating RESTful and SOAP web services, working with databases, and leveraging cloud services (especially AWS) will be crucial. You should be a collaborative problem solver with a passion for writing clean, efficient, and scalable code. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design and develop high-performance REST and SOAP APIs using .NET (VB/C#) and Python. - Integrate with third-party REST and SOAP services, handling XML, JSON, and other data formats. - Develop and maintain Python-based APIs and microservices using frameworks and AWS Lambda. - Ensure APIs are secure, well-documented, and tested using tools such as Postman, SOAP UI, and Wizdler. - Build and maintain backend applications using .NET and Python. - Develop serverless applications and automation scripts leveraging AWS Lambda. - Work with various databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, DynamoDB, and PostgreSQL. - Implement ORM frameworks like Entity Framework and ensure optimized database interactions. - Integrate internal and external APIs into business applications. - Utilize source versioning tools such as Team Foundation Server (TFS) and GitHub. - Participate in CI/CD pipelines and manage deployments in testing and production environments. - Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including front-end, QA, and DB developers. - Document code, APIs, and technical processes consistently for maintainability. - Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to security, performance, and quality standards. - Stay updated with the latest trends in .NET, Python, web service development, and AWS technologies. - Recommend and implement improvements to enhance system performance and scalability. **Qualifications & Skills:** - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. - 4+ years of experience in software development with expertise in both .NET (VB/C#) and Python. - Proven experience in building and consuming RESTful and SOAP web services. - Strong understanding of web service architecture, protocols, and security (OAuth, JWT, etc.). - Hands-on experience with AWS services, particularly Lambda and CI/CD tools. - Proficiency in databases: Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL. - Familiarity with Entity Framework, NoSQL, and modern API design patterns. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills. - Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities. - Commitment to continuous learning and adapting to new technologies.
