Automation Test Engineer - Job Description

Job Title:

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Automation Test Engineer to develop, execute, and maintain automated test solutions that ensure high-quality software delivery. The ideal candidate should have expertise in test automation frameworks, functional testing, API testing, and continuous integration practices.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
Analyze business requirements and create detailed test scenarios and test cases.
Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
Execute automated test suites and analyze results.
Identify, document, track, and verify defects using defect management tools.
Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product teams to ensure quality deliverables.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
Prepare test reports and quality metrics for stakeholders.
Continuously improve test automation processes and frameworks.

Required Skills

Strong experience in
Automation Testing
.
Proficiency in programming languages such as
Java, Python, or C#
.
Experience with automation tools such as
Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, UFT, or TestComplete
.
Knowledge of
API Testing
using Postman, Rest Assured, or similar tools.
Experience with
SQL
and database validation.
Familiarity with
Git
, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or other CI/CD tools.
Strong understanding of
Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)
and
Defect Life Cycle
.
Experience working in
Agile/Scrum
environments.

Preferred Skills

Experience with
BDD frameworks
such as Cucumber.
Exposure to cloud testing platforms such as BrowserStack or Sauce Labs.
Knowledge of performance testing tools like JMeter.
Experience in mobile automation testing using Appium.
Understanding of DevOps practices and test automation in CI/CD environments.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
ISTQB or Automation Testing certifications are preferred.
