Asst. Manager - Mechanical Design (R&D)

Role & responsibilities

Design and Development:

Create detailed 2D and 3D designs using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA).

Develop mechanical components, systems, and assemblies based on project requirements.

Ensure designs comply with applicable engineering standards and regulations.

Prototyping and Testing:

Build and evaluate prototypes to validate design functionality and performance.

Conduct tests, analyze results, and implement necessary modifications.

Documentation:

Generate and maintain engineering drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and technical documentation.

Prepare reports, manuals, and other design-related documents.

Collaboration:

Work closely with the manufacturing, procurement, and quality assurance teams to ensure product manufacturability.

Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to gather requirements and address design concerns.

Problem-Solving:

Identify and resolve design issues during the development and production phases.

Provide technical support for troubleshooting mechanical systems.

Project Management:

Monitor project timelines and ensure deliverables meet schedule and budget constraints.

Participate in design reviews and provide technical input for continuous improvement.

Preferred candidate profile

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, NX).

GD&T

Familiarity with manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, casting).
