Associate Software Engineer - Junior UI/UX Designer

As an Associate Software Engineer - Junior UI/UX Designer at CGI, you will be an integral part of our digital team, contributing your creativity and attention to detail to design intuitive and user-centric interfaces for various web and mobile applications in the retail sector. Your role will involve collaborating with Product Managers, Developers, and fellow Designers to create engaging user experiences that drive interaction and conversion. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and establish user flows for retail applications. - Develop wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and final UI designs. - Ensure design consistency across all applications by following established design systems and brand guidelines. - Conduct basic usability testing and incorporate user feedback to refine designs. - Assist developers by providing design assets, annotations, and specifications. - Stay informed about industry trends, retail user behavior, and competitor interfaces to guide design decisions. - Identify and address user experience pain points to enhance overall usability. To be successful in this role, you should have: - 1+ years of professional experience in UI/UX design, preferably in a product or agency setting. - A strong portfolio showcasing web and/or mobile application design expertise. - Proficiency in design tools like Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar software. - Knowledge of design principles, responsive design, and user-centered design practices. - Basic familiarity with HTML/CSS is advantageous. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills. - Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic environment. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience working on retail, e-commerce, or consumer-facing platforms. - Familiarity with accessibility guidelines (WCAG). - Experience in Agile/Scrum development methodologies. - Awareness of motion design or micro-interactions is a bonus.
