Associate, Merchandise Payable

Role Overview: As a member of Saks Global Properties & Investments team, you will play a crucial role in accurately processing merchandise invoices, identifying discrepancies, and maintaining strong vendor relationships to support the luxury retail operations. Your responsibilities will involve collaborating with various internal teams to ensure efficient invoice processing and compliance with retail accounting standards. Key Responsibilities: - Accurately process merchandise invoices in a timely manner to support strong vendor relationships - Perform three-way matching (PO, goods receipt, invoice) and identify discrepancies, coordinating resolution with internal stakeholders - Identify vendor trends for invoices processed manually and work with the EDI team to understand vendor set up issues to increase auto match reconciliations - Collaborate with Merchandising, Finance, and Fulfillment Center teams to resolve escalated issues and prevent recurrence - Maintain detailed documentation and follow internal controls to ensure compliance with retail accounting standards - Identify recurring process issues and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and vendor satisfaction - Escalate unresolved or high-impact issues to the Assistant Manager while providing full context and documentation - Support team goals by contributing to productivity, quality, and process improvement efforts Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in finance - 0-2+ years of experience - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, basic formulas) - Strong analytical and reconciliation skills - Understanding of retail operations and vendor invoicing processes is a plus - Interest in the fashion industry and eagerness to grow within the finance function Additional Details: Saks Global is the largest multi-brand luxury retailer in the world, offering personalized luxury shopping experiences through cutting-edge technology and strong partnerships with esteemed brands.
