Associate Data Scientist

As an Associate Data Scientist in NielsenIQ's Advanced Analytics team, you will play a crucial role in developing and promoting a portfolio of global products. Your responsibilities will involve collaborating with Product Owners and Core Technology Teams to build scalable always-on analytic products using relevant modeling and machine learning techniques. Your role will require you to: - Understand business issues, stakeholder requirements, and expectations - Perform relevant modeling analysis and proof of concept (POC) using multiple techniques - Ensure the quality of analytics models - Document and present findings and recommendations in a structured manner to various stakeholders and partnering teams - Collaborate closely with Engineering and Tech teams to convert POCs into fully scalable products - Engage in active collaboration with other project team members - Stay updated on developments in the field to bring the most appropriate solutions to the business To be successful in this role, you should have: - A Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field - 1-4 years of experience in Data Science within a business environment - Strong theoretical knowledge of statistical modeling and foundational mathematical concepts - The ability to develop advanced statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and computational algorithms for business application - Experience working on distributed or cloud computing platforms like Google Cloud or Microsoft Azure - Proficiency in Data Science coding languages such as Python, PySpark, and SQL in a cloud-based environment like DataBricks - Proficiency in SQL for working with large datasets - Experience using collaborative development tools like git - Experience working with Agile methodologies like SCRUM - Strong problem-solving and excellent communication skills with an independent working style Additionally, NielsenIQ may utilize artificial intelligence (AI) tools during the recruitment process to streamline workflows and ensure fair evaluation based on job-related criteria.
