Job Description

As an Assistant Vice President - Scenario Analysis Stress Testing [Wholesale Credit Risk] at HSBC, you will play a crucial role in executing the Climate engine to assess Transition risk and Physical risk impact on Wholesale portfolios. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting and developing Python codes necessary for the Climate engine execution. You will address technically challenging regulatory and senior HSBC stakeholders requests by presenting execution results using advanced quantitative techniques. Your role will involve the end-to-end execution of processes, including identifying issues, proposing solutions, implementation, and production. Attention to detail and the ability to make independent judgments that support decision-making for senior management are essential. You will ensure personal integrity and adherence to established HSBC policies on conduct and compliance. Building trust with partners, juniors, and seniors by demonstrating HSBC values and practices is key. You will be responsible for actively managing the team's workload, prioritizing activities, and providing coaching and technical support to junior team members as needed. Understanding team members" training needs and taking initiative to follow through on their development plans in conjunction with the line manager is also expected. To be successful in this role, you should have at least 5 years of experience in the financial services industry, including stress testing or Wholesale Credit risk assessment. Preferred experience with global banks, regulators, and relevant consulting roles is desirable. A strong understanding of Credit risk and Climate risk fundamentals is crucial, along with excellent coding skills in the latest statistical packages/apps in Python. Additionally, you should have a post-graduate degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Economics, or Statistics. Experience in analyzing and presenting execution models results to capture relationships between Credit risk impacts and scenario variables is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including creating PowerPoint presentations to summarize and communicate analytical outcomes, are essential. Your ability to manage multiple ad-hoc requests, meet quick turnaround times, and manage stakeholder expectations will be vital. Interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work well in a team, be cooperative and open, and embrace diversity are also important. Good knowledge of regulatory requirements as well as financial accounting in the Banking Industry will contribute to your success in this role.
