Assistant Professor Orthopedic

Job Summary:

The Assistant Professor of Orthopedics will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction, conducting clinical and academic research, and offering patient care in the field of orthopedic surgery. The successful candidate will actively contribute to the educational and clinical missions of the department and participate in the academic development of medical students, residents, and fellows.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching & Mentorship:

• Deliver lectures and practical instruction in orthopedic topics to undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.
• Supervise and mentor residents and fellows in clinical and surgical settings.
• Develop educational materials and contribute to curriculum development.

Clinical Duties:

• Provide expert care in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of musculoskeletal conditions.
• Perform orthopedic surgeries and procedures as per specialization (trauma, sports, spine, joint replacement, etc.).
• Participate in on-call rotation as needed.

Research & Academic Contribution:

• Conduct clinical or laboratory-based research in orthopedics.
• Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals.
• Present at academic conferences and symposia.

Administrative and Other Duties:

• Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and quality assurance initiatives.
• Contribute to program development and strategic planning for the orthopedic department.
• Maintain compliance with institutional policies, ethical standards, and accreditation requirements.

Qualifications:

• Education: MBBS with MS/DNB in Orthopedics from a recognized institution.
• Experience: Minimum of 1–3 years of teaching or post-residency clinical experience (as per regulatory guidelines).
• Licensure: Valid medical license/registration from the appropriate medical council.
• Desirable: Fellowship training in a sub-specialty (optional); Research publications in indexed journals.
