Position Summary:

[Institution Name] invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of English to join our Department of English. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in English literature, composition, and related areas; maintain an active research agenda; and contribute to departmental and institutional service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach 3–4 courses per semester (subject to institutional norms) in English literature, composition, writing, or related subjects.
• Develop and revise course materials and syllabi in alignment with departmental goals.
• Advise and mentor students, including supervising undergraduate research or theses as appropriate.
• Engage in scholarly research and publish in peer-reviewed journals or presses.
• Participate in departmental committees and contribute to curriculum development.
• Attend faculty meetings and fulfill other university service responsibilities.
• Stay current with developments in the field of English studies.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Ph.D. in English(Prefer not Mandatory)
• Master Degree in English
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college/university level.
• Strong commitment to scholarly research and professional development.

Preferred:

• Specialization in e.g., American Literature, Postcolonial Studies, Digital Humanities, Rhetoric and Composition, etc.
• Experience with curriculum development, online/hybrid instruction, or inclusive pedagogy.
• Evidence of commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching and service.
