Assistant Principal/Senior Civil Engineer (Utilities)

Working within the Utilities Coordination Team, the role involves utility route design (including wet and dry utilities), space management, and technical interface. You will be working in a 3D model environment using Bentley Open Roads and on Plan and Profile in Civil3D for Dry and Wet utilities. It is essential to be well-versed with the types of utilities and their general standards. You should be comfortable working in sync with available information portals on the intranet/internet and preparing utility profiles and sections. Additionally, you will be responsible for receiving utility information from various design teams, preparing integrated utility models using the received information, and interacting with other disciplines and design teams. Your tasks will also include reviewing and coordinating integrated models, identifying and supporting the resolution of utility models in a federated model environment, and delivering clash-free detailed models to a high level of accuracy. Following project-specified model conventions and standards, as well as extracting and summarizing attributes content from the model, will be part of your responsibilities. Having a basic idea in Surface and site Grading in Civil 3D is also required for this role. The preferred candidate for this position should have experience in Bentley software, particularly Microstation, and working in a Projectwise environment. While experience in Bentley OpenRoads is preferable, training can be gained on the project. Some hands-on experience in Civil 3D and Navisworks is desirable. Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary project environment and preferably within a civil engineering project using BIM & 3D models is advantageous. You should possess the ability to quickly and accurately identify complex BIM issues, proactive communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and utilities design teams, and the essential capability to work independently, taking a positive approach to managing and delivering workload. Being able to work in an organized structured framework, supporting colleagues, and delivering to the project program is crucial for this role. Depending on experience, you may be required to supervise and/or lead a small utilities modeling team. A Qualified B.E./B.Tech in any relevant discipline, preferably in Civil Engineering/Environmental Engineering, is a minimum qualification requirement.
