Assistant Engineer - Track

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Engineer - Track to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will assist in the planning, design, and implementation of track-related projects, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of safety and quality. This position requires a combination of technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: - Assist in the design and analysis of railway track systems, including alignments, gradients, and cross-sections for UK Rail Projects. - Support the preparation of engineering reports, drawings, and design calculations. - Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers on various track engineering projects. - Evaluate existing track conditions and recommend necessary maintenance or upgrades. - Assist in the preparation of project proposals and budgets. - Participate in project planning meetings and contribute to the development of project timelines. - Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and safety guidelines. - Coordinate with construction teams and contractors during the implementation of track projects. - Maintain accurate project records and documentation. **Qualifications:** - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field. - Experience in railway engineering or track design is preferred but not required. - Familiarity with engineering design software and tools (e.g., Bentley Power Rail Track, Open Rail Designer, Clear Route 2, MicroStation). - Basic understanding of railway track systems, construction methods, and materials. - Understanding of Network Rail codes & Standards - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
