·Check inventory of all equipment, crash cart and instruments as per the inventory register and inform the senior nurse /head nurse in case of any discrepancies noted. ·Check the communication book for any new instructions during every shift. ·Check the census of the department. ·Enquire and know about the following: Admissions in casualty. - Serve as the primary attending physician for all ICU patients, not merely a consultant. * Perform and oversee advanced procedures such as continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), percutaneous tracheostomy, and bedside bronchoscopy. * Lead the "Code Blue" or Rapid Response team for medical emergencies throughout the hospital. * Guide difficult discussions regarding treatment limitation, withdrawal of care, and organ donation with families and the care team. * Spearhead quality improvement projects, such as reducing central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSI) or ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP).
