Application Development and Support Engineer

As an Application Development and Support Engineer with 6 - 10 years of experience, your primary responsibilities will include developing, maintaining, and supporting Python-based applications and automation scripts. You will be tasked with designing, implementing, and optimizing SQL queries and database objects to facilitate application functionality and quant needs. Additionally, you will build and manage ETL pipelines using tools like dbt or Azure Data Factory (ADF) and troubleshoot any application or data pipeline issues promptly to minimize downtime. In this role, you will be expected to take ownership of assigned tasks and drive them to completion with minimal supervision. Continuous improvement of processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and quality will be a key focus. It will also be your responsibility to document solutions, processes, and support procedures clearly and comprehensively. To excel in this position, you should possess technical proficiency in Python programming with experience in scripting and automation. Strong knowledge of SQL for querying and manipulating relational databases is essential, along with hands-on experience in ETL tools like dbt and Airflow. Familiarity with version control systems such as Git, understanding of Agile software development methodologies, and knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes are also required.
