Job Purpose: - To manage day-to-day operations and maintenance of equipment and manpower at the Solid Waste Management facility, focusing on material recovery, trommel & shredder operations, biomining, and composting processes, ensuring maximum efficiency, safety, and compliance. Key Responsibilities 1. Plant Operations Supervise and monitor daily operations at MRF, Biomining, and Composting sites. Ensure smooth functioning of Trommels, Shredders, Conveyors, and Windrow Turners. Oversee waste sorting, recovery, and material flow to maximize recyclables recovery. Ensure compost production is as per quality standards (odor-free, sieved, moisture-controlled). Monitor processing volumes and performance of each machine. Coordinate daily shift-wise deployment of manpower (operators, helpers, loaders, etc.). 2. Maintenance (Mechanical & Electrical) Implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for plant equipment. Troubleshoot breakdowns of trommel screens, shredders, gearboxes, motors, and belts. Coordinate with internal/external technicians and vendors for timely repairs. Maintain updated records of maintenance, spares usage, and service history. Ensure inventory of critical spares and consumables. 3. Safety, Compliance & Environment Enforce site safety norms and usage of PPE by all staff. Conduct regular toolbox talks and safety training. Ensure firefighting systems, DG sets, and electrical panels are maintained in safe condition. Comply with environmental norms related to waste handling, leachate control, odor, etc. Support inspections and documentation for audits (BMC, PCB, client). 4. Reporting & Documentation Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly records for: Input waste received Output recovered (RDF, recyclables, compost) Machine run hours and downtime Manpower deployment Prepare reports on production efficiency, maintenance logs, and incident records. 5. Coordination & Team Management Coordinate with project engineers, field supervisors, drivers, and housekeeping teams. Support HR/Admin in resolving manpower, attendance, and welfare issues. Liaise with local authorities or third-party contractors if needed. Support training of new operators and helpers.
