Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Instruction:
  • Lecture Delivery: Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, and related subjects. This includes subjects like neuroanatomy, histology, biomechanics, and system physiology (cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, etc.).
  • Practical Sessions: Conduct laboratory sessions and practical demonstrations to enhance student understanding of anatomical structures and physiological processes. Supervise dissections (in cadaver labs) and use of models or software for anatomy learning.
  • Curriculum Design: Develop, review, and update course syllabi, ensuring that the curriculum aligns with current scientific understanding and best teaching practices.
  • Student Evaluation: Conduct examinations, quizzes, and practical assessments. Provide constructive feedback to students on their academic performance, assignments, and laboratory work.
  • Academic Mentoring: Provide academic guidance and counseling to students, helping them understand complex concepts in anatomy and physiology.
  • Research:
  • Conduct Research: Engage in original research in the field of anatomy and physiology, such as cellular mechanisms, organ functions, physiological disorders, or advanced imaging techniques.
  • Publish Findings: Regularly publish research papers, reviews, or case studies in reputed academic journals and present at conferences to share knowledge and innovations in the field.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, institutions, or researchers on multidisciplinary research projects that intersect with anatomy, physiology, or medical sciences.
  • Student Research Supervision: Guide students in their research projects, helping them with the design, methodology, and analysis of their research on anatomical or physiological topics.
  • Clinical and Laboratory Supervision:
  • Laboratory Management: Ensure that anatomy and physiology labs are well-equipped, maintained, and organized. Ensure safety protocols are followed in the lab, especially during dissections or use of complex instruments.
  • Supervise Practicals: Supervise students during practical sessions, making sure they understand experimental procedures and the practical applications of anatomical and physiological knowledge.
  • Clinical Application: If applicable, help integrate anatomical and physiological principles with clinical cases, especially for students in medical, nursing, physiotherapy, or allied health programs.
  • Administrative and Departmental Duties:
  • Departmental Meetings: Attend departmental meetings and contribute to discussions about curriculum changes, departmental goals, and student performance.
  • Administrative Support: Help with organizing seminars, workshops, or conferences related to anatomy and physiology.
  • Academic Administration: Assist in managing and improving academic processes, such as admissions, student records, and program accreditation.
  • Professional Development:
  • Stay Updated: Continuously stay updated with the latest developments in anatomy and physiology, including new research, medical breakthroughs, and advances in teaching methodologies.
  • Attend Conferences: Attend national or international conferences, workshops, and seminars to enhance professional knowledge and network with peers.
  • Teaching Improvement: Regularly assess and improve teaching techniques, including using modern technology (like virtual labs, 3D models, or online learning platforms) to enhance learning experiences.
  • Community Outreach (Optional):
  • Public Awareness: Participate in public seminars, webinars, and community outreach programs to raise awareness about anatomy and physiology in relation to health and wellness.
  • Educational Programs: Organize educational programs for schools, community groups, or health professionals to spread knowledge about the importance of anatomy and physiology in daily life.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Qualifications:
  • Master's degree (M.Sc.) in Anatomy or Physiology (or a related field) from a recognized institution.
  • Ph.D. in Anatomy, Physiology, or a related area will be an added advantage (especially for more advanced teaching and research roles).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
