Job Summary: The Sanctions Analyst is responsible for conducting thorough AML and sanctions investigations on customer transactions to ensure compliance with BSA/AML regulatory requirements. The role involves monitoring, analyzing, and escalating potentially suspicious activity, ensuring adherence to global financial crime regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA PATRIOT Act, Know Your Customer (KYC), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), and Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs). This position requires a strong understanding of banking transactions, sanctions screening, and AML investigative processes while working closely with the Compliance Quality Assurance Team and Team Leads to mitigate risks related to money laundering and sanctions violations. Key Responsibilities: Conduct AML and sanctions investigations by reviewing customer transactions, identifying potential red flags, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Analyze and disposition AML alerts for potentially suspicious activity, including sanctions screening hits and transaction monitoring alerts. Perform enhanced due diligence (EDD) by leveraging internal and external sources to validate customer activity and document findings. Provide initial recommendations and case dispositions with strong supporting rationale, escalating high-risk cases to management as necessary. Stay updated on evolving global sanctions regulations, including OFAC, EU, UN, and other jurisdictional requirements, ensuring compliance across different regions. Ensure timely case resolution by managing alerts, investigations, and follow-ups while adhering to internal SLAs and regulatory deadlines. Assist in the preparation of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and ensure compliance with currency reporting regulations across multiple jurisdictions. Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, and Fraud teams to enhance investigative workflows and improve risk assessment methodologies. Participate in ad hoc/special projects as assigned by management, balancing additional responsibilities alongside core investigative duties.
