AML Transaction Monitoring (Alerts Analyst)

As an AML Transaction Monitoring (Alerts Analyst), your primary responsibility will be to review customer account activity flagged by the bank's automated monitoring system. You will need to identify and assess unusual or potentially suspicious activities, preparing detailed analysis and risk assessments to explain reasons for closing or escalating alerts. It is crucial to maintain up-to-date procedural and guidance documents in compliance with regulatory standards, ensuring a thorough knowledge of BSA and OFAC laws & regulations. Collaboration with the Financial Intelligence Unit to identify and report suspicious activities will be a key aspect of your role. You will also need to liaise with branch personnel to resolve unusual account activities and work on financial crime investigative processes to effectively manage alert reviews. Tasks assigned by the Alert Disposition Team Leader or BSA Manager should be carried out diligently. To excel in this role, you must have prior experience reviewing and working on AML alerts, preferably within the Financial Intelligence Unit of a financial institution. A strong understanding of AML and financial crime investigation processes is essential. Additionally, professional proficiency in English (spoken & written) is required to communicate effectively within the team and with stakeholders.
