Alation Administrator

You will be responsible for managing users, roles, groups, and assigning required privileges. Additionally, you will collaborate with vendors to understand the roadmap and influence the Alation roadmap to include use cases and feature requests. Another key aspect of your role will involve scheduling MDE Data Sampling QLI and onboarding new projects onto the Alation platform. Furthermore, you will be required to create and manage Alation domains, sub-domains, documents, and hubs. This will include setting up new connectors or data sources and configuring SSO SAML Authentication for the Alation platform while syncing LDAP with security groups and roles. You will also need to upload data dictionaries for bulk curation through the GUI. Part of your responsibilities will involve coordinating with Alation vendors for product bugs, capabilities, feature requests, and bug fixes. You will also need to prepare and maintain a tracker for configuration changes and performance tweaks, reviewing Alation API access, and granting appropriate access on a case-by-case basis. Moreover, you will configure Lexicon Alli Bots for the automatic curation of business and technical terms, support projects migrating from on-premises to the cloud, perform platform upgrades, apply patches and bug fixes, create support and change management groups, and assist data stewards with issues and guidance. Your role will also entail defining a security model and enforcing security best practices, onboarding the Alation platform to Asset Management, working with TQ to qualify the Alation On-Prem and Cloud platforms, and maintaining security firewall rules.,
