Job Description

As a Software Applications Development Engineer at NTT DATA, you will play a crucial role in developing new applications and enhancing existing ones to meet the requirements of both internal stakeholders and external clients. Your expertise in computer science, programming languages, and application design will be instrumental in creating solutions that align with client objectives and user needs. You will collaborate with a diverse team to ensure the integrity and functionality of applications while adhering to best practices in software development. Key Responsibilities: - Develop applications that meet client objectives and user needs effectively. - Design and write code for applications, as well as maintain application databases. - Analyze and enhance existing software applications to optimize functionality and enable compatibility with new hardware platforms. - Modify and customize applications as necessary to enhance performance. - Identify and address specific client preferences related to the application. - Conduct thorough testing to ensure error-free and bug-free applications. - Install applications and provide technical advice as needed. - Collaborate with internal technical stakeholders to gather project information and requirements. - Consult with clients during the design phase to understand their needs. - Create software documentation following company processes and templates. - Participate in software product review meetings and team discussions. - Perform any other relevant tasks as required. To excel in this role, you should possess: - Proficiency in computer science, programming, and user-focused features. - Strong teamwork skills and attention to detail. - Ability to analyze complex systems effectively. - Extensive experience in Java programming and object-oriented design. - Knowledge of software development processes and agile methodologies like Scrum. - Familiarity with integrated development environments and various programming languages (e.g., Java, Perl, Python, C++). - Strong analytical, organizational, and project management capabilities. - Excellent communication skills to handle client issues professionally. Academic Qualifications and Certifications: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. - Certification in programming languages such as Java, Perl, Python, C++ (preferred). - Scrum or Project Management certification (preferred). Required Experience: - Seasoned experience in Software Applications Engineering or Software Development. - Proficiency in programming languages like C, C++, Java, Python. - Experience with Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems. - Working knowledge of SQL. - Project management experience or Agile environment exposure.
