AI Engineer

As a Software Developer focusing on AI/ML and cloud-native applications at Teradata, you will play a crucial role in leading a function within the Teradata Vantage platform. Your responsibilities will include designing and developing software components for autonomous AI agents, integrating with cutting-edge technologies, and supporting the deployment of agent systems in scalable environments. You will work collaboratively within Agile development workflows and contribute to the development of internal testing tools. Your qualifications include a strong background in software development, experience with AI/ML, cloud-native applications, and familiarity with programming languages like Python, Go, Java, or C++. **Key Responsibilities:** - Contribute to the design and development of software components for autonomous AI agents - Implement features supporting agentic capabilities such as tool use, memory, and long-term planning - Integrate with state-of-the-art LLMs and agent orchestration frameworks - Design and implement integrations with the Model Context Protocol (MCP) - Develop and maintain interfaces with major Cloud Service Providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) - Write, test, and debug backend code for agent workflows - Build interfaces between agents and tools such as APIs, databases, and user-facing applications - Participate in Agile development workflows and collaborate across teams - Support the deployment of agent systems in scalable environments using Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud services - Maintain documentation of agent capabilities, system design, and integration strategies **Qualifications Required:** - 13 years of experience in software development with a focus on AI/ML, intelligent systems, or cloud-native applications, or strong academic/internship background - Strong interest in Agentic AI and familiarity with programming languages like Python, Go, Java, or C++ - Exposure to LLMs, AI APIs, and modern cloud infrastructure - Experience with RESTful APIs, backend service design, and microservice architectures - Ability to write clean, testable code and follow best practices in code reviews and version control - BS degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related technical field - Strong problem-solving skills and a solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming - Experience with cloud tools and platforms, especially Kubernetes and Docker - Exposure to agentic frameworks and Model Context Protocol (MCP) - Curiosity and excitement about building intelligent systems and continuous learning in AI capabilities At Teradata, you will love our people-first culture, flexible work model, focus on well-being, and commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
