Job Overview: As a Business Development Manager (Team Lead) , you will lead a dynamic sales & outreach team focused on acquiring new clients (authors, professors, institutions), driving book publishing partnerships, and enhancing AGPH’s market presence across India. You will be responsible for developing strategies, mentoring the team, managing key accounts, and achieving business targets. Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership & Strategy Lead and manage a team of Business Development Executives. Develop and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual business plans and sales targets. Train, mentor, and motivate the sales team to exceed performance goals. Client Acquisition & Relationship Management Identify and build relationships with potential authors, academic institutions, and educational consultants. Pitch AGPH’s publishing solutions (print, digital, eBooks, ISBN, marketing, etc.). Maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients to ensure repeat business. Institutional & Author Outreach Organize webinars, campus visits, or virtual sessions to promote AGPH services. Work closely with professors, researchers, and PhD scholars to understand their publishing needs. Represent AGPH at academic conferences, book fairs, and educational events. Sales Reporting & Market Analysis Track team performance and prepare weekly/monthly reports. Analyze trends, market competition, and customer feedback to suggest improvements in offerings. Collaborate with marketing and editorial teams to align business development with campaigns. Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field. 2+ years of proven experience in business development or academic/ed-tech publishing. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities. Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines and targets. Familiarity with academic publishing, ISBN, API Scores, or the educational ecosystem is a plus . Preferred Traits: Strong network in the academic/research domain.
