As a member of EY's GDS Tax Technology team, your role involves the development, implementation, and integration of technology solutions that cater to the needs of clients and engagement teams. Within EY's core Tax practice, you will have the opportunity to deepen your tax technical knowledge and hone your database, data analytics, and programming skills. The evolving landscape of regulations necessitates tax departments to gather, organize, and analyze vast amounts of data. This data is often sourced from various systems and departments within an organization, posing significant challenges in terms of handling the volume and variety efficiently. The GDS Tax Technology team at EY collaborates closely with partners, clients, and tax technical experts to develop and integrate technology solutions that add value, enhance efficiencies, and equip clients with cutting-edge tools to support Tax functions. Key Responsibilities: - Utilize strong database programming and backend development skills using SQL Server/Azure SQL to write complex queries, stored procedures, views, triggers, cursors, and UDFs. - Demonstrate expertise in data modeling and Datawarehouse concepts. - Experience with Azure Data Factory or other ETL tools. - Develop, maintain, and optimize data layer components for new and existing systems including databases, stored procedures, ETL packages, and SQL queries. - Collaborate with application developers to address changes in core systems and their impact on existing SQL databases. - Define data solutions for business challenges by engaging with project managers, seniors, and clients. - Effective communication with senior IT leaders on program strategies and plans to negotiate quality solutions. Preferred Skills: - Knowledge of Snowflake, Snowpipe. - Familiarity with Databricks. - Proficiency in Python, Pyspark, or Scala. - Exposure to any NoSQL Database. Qualifications and Experience: - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to work effectively as an individual contributor. - Minimum of 4 years of experience in SQL DB/Server, including building SQL Databases, database designing, and data modeling. - Experience with Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or any other ETL tool. - Exposure to visual analytics tools like Power BI is advantageous.
