About the Job
We are looking for a finance-oriented professional to drive financial planning, budgeting, cash flow management, working capital optimisation, financial analysis and management reporting for our growing solar manufacturing, EPC and renewable energy business.
The role will involve close coordination with business heads, project teams, procurement, production, sales and management to ensure financial discipline, cost optimisation, profitability tracking and effective utilisation of organisational resources. The candidate should possess strong financial acumen, analytical capabilities and practical exposure to managing finance operations in a manufacturing, engineering or project-based organisation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
- Drive annual budgeting, financial planning and periodic forecasting in alignment with organisational business objectives.
- Prepare departmental, operational and project-wise budgets and monitor actual expenditure against approved budgets.
- Analyse budget variances, identify financial risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop financial models and projections to support business expansion, investments and strategic decisions.
- Support management in evaluating financial feasibility of new projects, business initiatives and capital investments.
2. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
- Prepare and monitor daily, weekly and monthly cash flow statements and fund flow projections.
- Manage working capital, liquidity planning, fund utilisation and cash requirements across business operations.
- Monitor receivables, payables, outstanding collections and payment commitments to maintain healthy cash flow.
- Track customer collections, project advances, vendor credit periods and payment cycles.
- Identify potential cash flow gaps and proactively highlight funding requirements to management.
- Coordinate with banks and financial institutions for banking operations, working capital facilities and financial requirements.
3. Financial Analysis, MIS & Management Reporting
- Prepare periodic financial MIS, management dashboards and business performance reports.
- Analyse revenue, gross margins, operating expenses, EBITDA, profitability and financial performance.
- Develop project-wise, business-unit-wise and product-wise profitability reports.
- Track actual financial performance against budgets, forecasts and business targets.
- Provide actionable financial insights and recommendations to management for informed decision-making.
- Establish financial reporting mechanisms and improve the accuracy, transparency and timeliness of financial data.
4. Cost Management & Profitability Analysis
- Monitor manufacturing costs, project execution costs, material costs, overheads and operational expenses.
- Analyse product costing, project costing, contribution margins and profitability.
- Evaluate cost overruns, project deviations and budget leakages and recommend cost optimisation measures.
- Work closely with Production, Procurement, Stores and Project teams to monitor material consumption, inventory valuation, WIP and cost allocation.
- Support pricing decisions, commercial evaluations and financial feasibility assessments.
- Monitor capital expenditure (CAPEX), operating expenditure (OPEX) and return on investments.
5. Project Finance & Commercial Finance
- Monitor project-wise budgets, revenue recognition, billing milestones, collections and profitability.
- Evaluate project cash flow requirements, execution costs and financial commitments.
- Track customer advances, retention money, security deposits, bank guarantees and other project-related financial exposures.
- Support commercial and project teams in financial evaluation of contracts, purchase orders and customer agreements.
- Monitor project financial performance and highlight deviations from approved financial plans.
6. Accounts, Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Oversee accounting operations, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations.
- Ensure timely month-end and year-end financial closures and accurate financial statements.
- Supervise GST, TDS, Income Tax and other applicable statutory compliances.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors for statutory, tax and internal audits.
- Ensure proper maintenance of financial records, documentation and internal financial controls.
- Monitor fixed assets, depreciation, inventory accounting and statutory financial reporting requirements.
7. Banking, Audit & Financial Controls
- Coordinate with banks, auditors, financial consultants and statutory authorities.
- Monitor banking transactions, fund transfers, payment approvals and financial documentation.
- Establish and strengthen internal financial controls, approval mechanisms and financial processes.
- Ensure adherence to company financial policies, delegated authorities and compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education: MBA Finance / CA Inter / CMA Inter / CMA / CA / M.Com. CA or CMA qualification will be an added advantage.
Experience: 3–6 years of relevant experience in Finance & Accounts, preferably in manufacturing, solar, renewable energy, EPC, engineering or project-based industries.
Technical & Functional Skills:
- Strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
- Hands-on experience in cash flow management, working capital optimisation and fund management.
- Expertise in MIS reporting, financial dashboards, profitability analysis and budget variance analysis.
- Exposure to project finance, project costing, manufacturing finance and commercial finance.
- Knowledge of CAPEX, OPEX, cost control, financial modelling and investment evaluation.
- Understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, GST, TDS and statutory compliances.
- Advanced MS Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, SUMIFS and financial data analysis.
- Working knowledge of ERP/accounting platforms such as TCS iON (Preferred).
